Description

In 1896, four Englishmen fled for their lives across the merciless Kalahari Desert with a stolen fortune of raw diamonds, pursued by a fierce African tribe. They managed to reach the waiting HMS Rove--only to die with their pursuers in a storm that buries them all under tons of sand. Today, Juan Cabrillo and crew of the covert combat ship Oregon intercept a mayday from and rescue a defenseless boat under fire off the African coast. On it, the beautiful Sloane Macintyre has been searching for the now-submerged Rove, but has attracted lethal attention from unknown forces. She even tells of a crazy fisherman who claims to have been attacked on the open sea by giant metal snakes, and in the same area. A snake hunt and more follow.
