Kim Pearmain
March 8, 1968 - March 2, 2022
Kim was born in Fort
Carson, Colorado, to Glenn
and Anna (Bertuzzi), with
a distended bladder. This
led to over 200 surgeries in
his first two years, kidney
damage and a lifetime of
congenital health issues.
In September of 1970,
six months after the birth of brother, Kelly, the family
moved to Salt Lake City where Kim was raised with
his youngest brother, Shane (Chantile), arriving in
November of 1972. Kim is also survived by an older
half-sister, A’lisa Pearmain Johnson (Jay), who now
resides in Abilene, Kansas.
Kim moved back to Colorado in 1995, and after briefly
living in the towns of Fruita and Mesa, Colorado, he
ending up in Grand Junction for the remainder of his
life.
In 1997 he met the love of his life, Mona Tabor, and
married her on November 2, of that same year. Together
they raised Mona’s children, Brian, Cassidy, and Shane
Lawson, and went on to have 11 grandchildren, and two
great-grandchildren, with his brothers adding nephews,
Pontiac, Dominick (Meagan), and Mason, whom Kim
and Mona dearly loved to spend as much time as
possible with.
In 2005 after suffering complete kidney failure,
Mona donated a kidney to Kim. The transplant was
successful, however in 2013 Kim started dialysis, after
the transplant failed. He remained on dialysis three
times a week, until shortly before his passing.
Kim worked many jobs in his life, including driving
semi-trucks with Mona, and finally building a towing
company “K&M Towing” which they owned and
operated together, right up until his passing.
Kim enjoyed cooking for Mona, baseball, racing, and
fishing, along with many remodel projects to make their
home just right for them. Kim taught us all so much.
His bravery, strength and pure grit was inspiring and
impressive throughout his life.
There will be a memorial gathering April 2, at 3:00
p.m., at the Juniper Pavilion in Sherwood Park, 1301 E.
Sherwood Dr., Grand Junction, CO 81501
