Robert “Bob” G. McCrery, age 98, of Grand Junction,
CO, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at
LaVilla Grande Assisted Living Center.
Bob was born on February 24, 1923, in Alvord, IA,
to Granville Wood McCrery and Bertha Margaret Kahl
McCrery. During his teenage years he worked with the
Civilian Conservation Corps which is where his love
for the outdoors began. He proudly served in the US
Army Air Corps during WWII in the European Theatre
earning the rank of Private First Class. He retired as a
Telephone Worker for Quest Communications of Grand
Junction.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his son,
Robert L. McCrery. He is survived by his daughter-inlaw, Deborah McCrery, of Thornton, CO; grandchildren,
Matthew McCrery (Jessica), and Samuel McCrery
(Grace), of Westminster, CO, and great-grandchildren,
Seth, Marissa, Rebecca, and Joshua McCrery.
At his request cremation has taken place. A graveside
service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery
for family only.
