Craig Urban was an outdoor enthusiast of the finest order, and missed no opportunities to go skiing, snowboarding, hiking and mountain biking.
Craig moved to Vail four years ago from Denver, where his family still lives. He is the son of Jerry Urban of Highlands Ranch, the brother of Lori Droogan of Aurora and brother of Brent Urban of Denver. Craig's mother died in 1999.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary. Internment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2450 S. Downing, Denver, CO 80210.
"This place was for him, he loved Vail," said Craig's father Jerry. "He was adventurous, and he love to have fun."
When the snow wasn't deep enough in Vail, Craig would trek off to Canada for a heli-skiing trip.
Before moving to Vail, Craig earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and his master's in business administration from the University of Colorado-Denver.
He worked in hotel management when he first arrived in Vail, later working at jobs with CPI before launching his own company, Rocky Mountain Powerwash. The business steam-cleaned and powerwashed commercial kitchens, building exteriors and parking lots. Craig had found a niche in the Vail Valley business community, and was extremely successful.
Craig purchased a townhouse in West Vail and a condominium in Avon's Sunridge Project.
The family is trying to place Craig's Shar-Pei dog Loosie in a good home. Loosie is well trained and gentle.

Autopsy results from the bodies of two men who died in Vail early in the new year rule out foul play in both cases.
Greg Urban, 32, of Vail was found dead Jan. 2 around 8 a.m. by his roommates in an apartment on Kinnikinnick Road. According to the autopsy performed in Golden by Dr. Ben Galloway, Urban died from a diabetes related complication.
