Longtime Water District Chief Dies
Anthony T. Rossi of Longmont died March 10 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 78. Rossi was born April 1, 1925 to Daniel and Elizabeth Rossi in Welby, Colo.
He worked as a superintendent for the water and sanitation agency in Welby. Rossi then spent 19 years with the Upper Eagle Valley Water and Sanitation District, from which he retired in 1986. He moved to Longmont from Vail in 1988.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking, and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, friends and family members said.
He started the Rossi Denver to Brighton Tour, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
Rossi is survived by his wife, Katherine Rossi of Longmont; three sons, Steve Rossi and his wife Nancy of Berthoud, Dan Rossi and his wife Mara of Hollywood, Fla., and Ken Rossi of Vail; two daughters, Teri and Carol Rossi of Vail; brother Leonard Rossi of Denver; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Joann Rossi, Billy Rossi and Taylor Griego; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass was held Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. A private inurnment was held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery Columbarium.
