VAIL – John Robert Hrbacek, of Vail, formerly of Anderson, S.C., died Thursday at his home. He was 41.Hrbacek was the manager at Timber Ridge apartments in Vail. He was an avid whitewater river rafter and camper who loved exploring Colorado on water and land, a family spokeswoman said. The Navy veteran lived each day to the fullest, she said.”He loved life and especially his family,” the spokeswoman said.Born June 20, 1966, in Hollywood, Calif., he was the son of the late Robert George Hrbacek. Hrbacek is survived by his mother, Lois Anderson Hrbacek; sister Jodi Hrbacek-Peterson and her husband, Richard Ward Peterson; nieces Skylar Eve and Ella Grace Hrbacek; and nephew Anders Ward Peterson, all of Anderson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.In addition to his father, he was preceeded in death by a sister, Julie Hrbacek Klein, and his grandparents.Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Midway Presbyterian Church in Anderson, S.C., conducted by the Rev. Mel Davis. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the home of his mother, Lois Hrbacek, 411 Liberty Court, Anderson.Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
