Larry passed away Monday October 24, 2016. Beloved husband to Elaine.
Father to Susan, Bob and Jon. Grandfather to Kerry and Amanda. Born in
Minneapolis, MN to Gust and Borghild Rydiger. He attended Patrick
Henry High School where he was a member of the Ski Team. After a high
school deferment he enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII and
served with the Seabee's in the Philippines. Larry had a long career
with Western Electric designing telephone systems.

Larry had many interests and at the top of the list was skiing. He was
a member of the Vail National Ski Patrol (1964-1976) There was nothing
he liked better than being the "first one up and the last one down."

Larry was an active member of the Masons, Telephone Pioneers of
America, and the Sons of Norway.

Larry also enjoyed working as a volunteer for many events in the Vail
area including the Jerry Ford Golf Invitational, various World Cup Ski
Races and the 1989 and 1999 World Alpine Ski Championships.

Among his other interests were traveling (He made it to 5 continents),
The Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Basketball and a good
old fashioned Bronco Game.
