Mitchell Foust
June 25, 1996 - January 31, 2016
Dear Mitch, Watching you grow up, from a shy little boy who refused to leave your mama’s and pops’ side, to a confident young man who touched and enriched the lives of everybody you met, has been amazing and a sheer pleasure. You had an unmatched enthusiasm for life and a joy in living that a person rarely sees in this world, that you showed whether you were eating bacon and eggs or getting out and enjoying nature’s beauty. In every act, you showed a hunger for excellence that showed itself in your pursuit of knowledge and your attention to friendship. With every endeavor that you set your mind to, you pursued it to only your own high standards of satisfaction. To all that knew you and loved you, you’ve been a constant inspiration towards living with good character and squeezing the most out of every last minute of life. For all of this, we want to thank you, and let you know that we all, unanimously feel that it was a privilege to spend the time with you that we could. We are honored to have been able to be your mother, your father, your brother, your friend. We have such gratitude for all of the memories you’ve left us with and the opportunity to make those memories. You have left a powerful legacy of love and a giving spirit for us all to carry on in your name. You will be dearly missed, Mitchy. With love and thanks, Your family and friends. Funeral services will be held in Grand Junction at Canyon View Vineyard Church on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Anybody who would like to attend is encouraged to come and share a story or memory of Mitchell. We invite those in attendance to wear something with camouflage in honor of Mitch. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that contributions go to the "Mitch Foust Memorial" account that has been established with the Bank of the San Juans (reference account number 2035) to continue Mitch’s legacy of teaching less fortunate children an appreciation of the great outdoors.

Mitch Foust

You’re the shining example of
enduring love and deep loyalty
to your family and friends.
My sweet son, I will carry
you for the rest of my life for
you live within me, forever a
young man of 19. I’ll continue
to Mother you in whatever way I
can. Every. Single. Day. I speak
about you and I speak to you. I
make sure you count-everyday.
I’ve lived without you for four years now but I lived and loved you
for 19 years, and those years counted. They will always count and
you will forever be loved. I would rather endure the inexplicable
pain of outliving you than to had never kissed your handsome face
or spoken your name. Regardless of the sorrow, the pain, the tears
and the sleepless nights, I will continue walking this earth knowing
I am yours, you are mine and I will carry you in my heart forever!
My love for you will never cease to exist. You are truly missed and
deeply loved.
Forever your mom, Aka momma bear.
I love you.
