GRACE G. COWDEN
Memorial services for Grace COWDEN of Eagle were held at the Eagle Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 30,at 2 p.m.
Mrs. COWDEN passed away on Jan. 25 at the Glen Valley Nursing Home in Glenwood Springs, where she had been a resident for the past ten years.
Born Grace Greenwood Singleton on May 21, 1887 in Edina, Mo., she lived in LaPlatte, Nebr. before moving to Denver in 1906. There she met and married Fred B. COWDEN in 1907 and moved to Eagle in 1914, where she pent the rest of her life on a farm.
Besides raising her family, she was Justice of the Peace, secretary to the Town Board, and also ran a cafe.
She is survived by her three sons, Lewis of Eagle; Bill of Tyler, Tex.; and Wayne of Pleasenton, Calif.; two daughters, Ethel FESSENDEN of San Clemente, Calif.;and Lucille LIEBER of Eagle;several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver.
