Jack R. Ticen, of Aurora, Colorado quietly passed away on Friday, November
28th, 2014, at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home at
the age of 93.
He was born in Victor, Colorado to Pauline and Fred Ticen. The family
soon moved to Lakewood, Colorado where he grew up.
Jack joined the Navy during World War II as a Radio Technician. He
was stationed in San Diego where he met and married Yvonne Shook,
his wife of 58 years. Jack attended Colorado State University where
he received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture. He was a farmer
and Soil Scientist for the U.S. Department of Interior for over 30 years.
Yvonne preceded him in death along with two sons, Stanley Ticen and
Todd Ticen and one grandchild, Jennifer Rotunno.
Survivors include his daughter Teri (Dale) Mingilton of Aurora; three
grandchildren, Addison Mingilton, Ticen Mingilton and Shauna Shaw,
and great-grandchildren, Zoe Shaw and Sydney Shaw.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Palisade Cemetery on
December 5, at 2:00 p.m., with Brother Gary Sawyer officiating.
