Sigur “Sig” Stavran went to be with the Lord on the 23rd of J anuary. Sig was born in Rock Springs in 1936 and lived in a lot of places. He was an engineer with the Forest Service for 36 years and during that time, he lived in Denver, Steamboat Springs, Gunnison, Cody, WY, Custer, SD and Missoula MT. He retired after living in Cedar City, Utah for six years. He also lived in Anchorage, AL for a short time. After his retirement, he worked for several places and finally started working in the engineering department for the City of Fruita. He worked there for ten years retiring on the 31st of December. Funeral services are being handled by Callahan-Edfast Funeral Home. Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
