Donna Paterson, 85, went to join
her beloved husband, Cameron,
on June 22, 2012.
Donna was born in Clearfield,
PA March 3, 1927, to Elizabeth
and Howard Ardery, the third of
three sisters. She married Cameron
Paterson December 2, 1944,
in Montgomery, AL, while he
was in the U.S. Army Air Force
cadet training program during World War II. Donna and Cameron
were stationed in several states and overseas in Libya and Turkey
over a 27 year military career. Donna thoroughly enjoyed the military
life and the opportunity to learn about different cultures, people
and cuisine. Donna enjoyed many years of retirement with her husband
in western Colorado including Hotchkiss, Eckert, Delta,
Battlement Mesa and Grand Junction, where they enjoyed many
wonderful neighbors and friends. They moved to Windsor and
Loveland in 2007, to be closer to family.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cameron;
her parents, sisters, and her granddaughter, Tracey Paterson.
She is survived by her sons, Cameron and wife, Cheryl of Longmont,
Colorado, and James and wife, Gillian of Loveland, Colorado;
five grandchildren, Michelle, Tania, Josh, Cameron and Aaron, and
six great-grandchildren.
Donna was an accomplished artist, focusing on oils, pastels, and
most recently, watercolors. She received many awards for her
paintings, and while she sold many of her works, her family and
friends treasure the creations she blessed them with.
Donna was also a gourmet cook, and was always ready to try
something new. She was once featured in the Air Force Times for
one of her recipes. Her family always looked forward to meals at her
home.
Donna enjoyed her family, painting, traveling, reading, movies and
her many friends.
Donna was cremated and an interment of ashes will take place at the
Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado, where
she will re-join her beloved Cameron for eternity. Funeral arrangements
entrusted to Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland, CO.
