Bramblet Willits

Bramlet Willits, long-time Eagle County resident died Apr. 8 in the Aspen hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Willits, Basalt rancher, was the son of an early day Basalt family, and he ranched west of Basalt. He was brother to Mrs. O.W. (Irene) Randall of Eagle, who died last autumn.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and son, Lee, of the home.

Bramblet Willets (sic)

One of the last of the Roaring Fork Valley pioneers died in the Aspen hospital April 8. He was Bramblet Willits, who had spent his life on the family homestead west of Basalt.

Mr. Willits was born Jan. 31, 1886 in Bowie, Texas, and came with his parents to the Roaring Fork valley in a covered wagon. He was a year old when his family made the move that was to be the start of their permanentg home. The ranch that was established by his parents was worked by Mr. Willits and by his own son in years afterward.

Funeral services were held in the Basalt Church by Reverend James Cavender. Members of Basalt IOOF Lodge were in charge of graveside services at the Basalt Cemetery.

Mr. Willets (sic) is survived byh his wife, Dorothy and son, Lee. A sister, Maria Mitchell of San Francisco also survives.
