MEMORIAL SERVICES SET FOR BARLOW.
Red Cliff native, Albert Edward BARLOW died at his home in Hollywood, Fla., on July 24.
He was born to Lois GILMER BARLOW on June 16, 1928, at the Red Cliff home of his maternal grandparents, Joseph Robert and Henrietta Mae (VINCENT) GILMER.
At age 15 he joined the Navy, served two years, and returned to Red Cliff, graduating from Red Cliff Union High School in May of 1948.
After graduation he moved to Butte, Mont., and worked in the copper mines. While living in Butte he met and married Ann Catherine WUTICH. After the birth of his daughter in 1955 he began working for Greyhound and eventually became the vice president of the western division/food services division.
While working for Greyhound he and his family lived in Seattle, San Francisco and Miami.
From the 1970s to the 1990s, BARLOW managed the Round Table and other restaurants in south Florida.
At the time of his death, he was semi-retired, working part time for Roy Electric.
He is survived by his daughter, Annette BARLOW, his granddaughters Amber and Ashley WUTICH, and by his companion of 28 years, Irene PASTOR.
A memorial will be Saturday in Red Cliff.
Family members say they will be sending his ashes off of Shrine Pass at 3 p.m., Saturday, "so he can reside forever in the area of his birth, which he loved so much."
To be involved with the memorial, just show up in Red Cliff sometime early Saturday afternoon, they say.
