Jayson Scott Dumford, 39, Grand
Junction, died March 14, 2010, at his
home.
Services are pending with Callahan-
Edfast Mortuary.
Dumford was a cook at Main Street
Cafe.
Survivors include one son, Damon, of
Grand Junction; one daughter, Tarah of
Grand Junction; his mother, Paulette J.
Bergamo of Grand Junction; his father,
Perry L. of Grand Junction; and one
sister, Angie Kytle of Fruita.

Jayson was born May 15, 1970
in Quincy, IL to Perry and Paulette
(McCoy) Dumford. He
moved with his family to Grand
Junction April 4, 1973.
Jayson graduated from Central
High School in 1988. He then
joined the U.S. Air Force and
spent three and one half years on
the island of Guam, where he
earned his diving certificate. He
moved back to Grand Junction in
1992. Jayson was employed as a
cook at the Main Street Café.
Previous to that, he was employed
at Dos Hombres.
He was married to Vickie Wilkerson
in 1996. From that union he
had two wonderful children, Damon
Scott, 13 and Tarah Jaye, 11.
Jayson enjoyed fishing and
camping with his children and
loved to play tennis with his mom
and dad. He was a natural golfer and played whenever he could.
Jayson had a great sense of humor and made his friends and family
laugh.
He is survived by his father, Perry L. Dumford; mother and
step-father, Paulette J. and Frank L. Bergamo; his former wife,
Vickie Wilson; son, Damon S. Dumford; daughters, Tarah J. Dumford
and Kaylie North; sister, Angie Kytle (Adam Bera); nieces,
Haleigh M. Kytle and Lynzie R. Kytle; aunts, Amy Lanman and
Cheryl Koontz; uncles, Archie, Lloyd and Larry Dumford; cousins,
Ashley Campbell, Brent Lanman and Codie Dumford, along with
many other cousins throughout the U.S.; and his special friend,
Theresa Burris.
He was loved by all his family and friends and will be greatly
missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00
p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
are requested to be made to the Jayson Dumford
Children's Fund, c/o any American National Bank.
