At the bottom of the Eagle River Canyon below Gilman, Belden is situated on the railroad. Ore was loaded on train cars here. The surface tram ran from Gilman down to Belden. The debris from the downpour covers the railroad tracks at midfield. The water was 8 ft. deep between the compressor house and the loading tipple during the cloudburst. The Belden processing and shipping area for the ore that was mined at Gilman Mine. The loading tippel is the first building on the left (white); next is the steam room and then the dryer. Box cars are lined up on the tracks by the loading tippel. The box cars at the center of the photo are underneath the Ben Butler Mine.

Loading up for transportation to lower levels in the mine. The 16-10 incline goes down to the 18 level (at one time it went all the way to the 24 level). Transporting people was called a mantrip. In the front seat are Terry Pierson, Ella and Pete Burnett. Victor Pierson is standing at left in the yellow helmet.

O.A. McClain and Roy Long standing beside a completely rebuilt mine car at the Gilman Mine. An "eye" is seen with chains attached at the bottom of the cart. The eye was used to hook the mine cars together in a series of small trains for hauling ore.
