Bob Rush, prominent Salida attorney, had a large collection of framed photographs that adorned his office. He graciously donated his collection to the Salida Library.

Frank Gimlett, aka The Hermit of Arbor Villa, abandoned his life in the big city of Salida, Colorado, and moved back into the mountains to pan for gold and sell postcards to the tourists.

The Salida Oral History Project preserved the history and heritage of Salida through interviews of long-time residents and other knowledgeable people who lived and worked in the area. These are shared stories of their childhood, schooling, family, church, outings, celebrations, friends, hobbies, and events that still live in their memories. The interviews will be kept forever so that others can learn from these true historians’ words.

The Salida Museum's Negatives Collection contains images of Salida and the surrounding area. It is a vast and varied collection of images. This collection will be updated periodically.
