When Henry W. Gossard owned the Heart Spring in Steamboat Springs, Colorado between 1931 and 1935, he dreamed of turning the downtown hot springs into one of the finest spas in the country. Miraquelle (or Miracle) Spa never materialized, but his undying love for the springs has endured in a legacy of enjoyment and conservation through the years.

Eileen Allen discusses moving to Steamboat in 1978, her marriage to native resident Lon Allen, raising their children, and the many community organizations she’s been involved with, including fund-raising efforts beginning in 2016 for a $10 million dollar renovation and expansion of the Old Town Hot Springs facilities in downtown Steamboat Springs.
