121) Welch Place

Welch place on LaGrow Rd., Gypsum, built in 1893. The logs for construction came from Hardscrabble Mountain. The house was moved to Carbondale.
122) Upper Gypsum School

The Upper Gypsum School soon after its construction in 1910. Italianate style with cupola bell tower. The building is presently at 115 Eagle Street, Gypsum. It was used as part of Gypsum School District 5 until the districts reorganized. It then became the Bible Chapel and then was used by the Annointed Christian Fellowship.
This photo may have been taken at the same time as 1990.001.045.

Publicity photograph of Eldon L. Bindley, Gypsum, Colorado, mayor from 1978 to 1980; 1982 to 1986. At 25 yrs. of age and running unopposed, Bindley listed his qualifications for office as his experience as a trustee and his time on the finance committee. His main goals were implementation of the town's proposed zoning ordinance and improving the town's water system.

Lundgren's Warehouse was built by Adolph Lundgren and George Beale as part of the Lundgren Store. In addition to groceries and merchandise, Lundren and Beale ran a lumberyard and sold hardware. The warehouse building later burned down.

The photo appears to be of World War II vintage.
Wyon E. Bonar came to Colorado in 1906 and was first employed on the Frank Doll ranch in Gypsum. He opened a barber shop in Red Cliff from 1911 to 1920, and then relocated to Caspter, Wyoming. He returned to Colorado and bought a pool hall and barber shop in Gypsum from Charles Doll in 1923. He had two children, Wyon and Betty Bonar Oliver, with Lenna Lupton Bonar.
