Studio portrait of Charles Gustafson (1855-1940). He was born November 12, 1855, in Vasa, FInland. He died on February 5, 1940, in New Castle, Colorado. He came to the United States in 1880, working as a miner in Leadville before moving to Gypsum. His wife and three children (Charles, William and Sophia) joined him in 1891, but his wife died in 1893. Harry Gartside, Jr. and Glenda Walker attend a high school basketball tournament at the Eagle County High School in Gypsum. Gartside and Walker were dating at the time and were eventually married on January 1, 1961. Taken on February 23, 1957. The Eagle County High School won the championship. Minturn won the consolation prize.
